In fact, some of the best boutique hotels in Condesa Mexico City draw on the neighbourhood’s craftspeople and artists to decorate their accommodation, as we’ll demonstrate in this post.

Best Boutique Hotels In Condesa Mexico City

Lots of the boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City proffers to visitors are concealed behind unassuming facades. In many cases, former family homes have been tastefully converted into either a handful of suites of a charming bed and breakfast – many of which are still run by the original residents.

#1 CASA LUCIANA Condesa – A Nature-Infused Haven.

CASA LUCIANA is one of the most modish boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City has to offer. There are just eight rooms, each one decorated with beautiful wooden furnishings to provide a warm, nature-influenced ambience.

LOCATION | The expansive Bosque de Chapultepec (Chapultepec Forest) parkland is 20 minutes walk away, while the Patriotismo metro station is just around the corner.

Sizes range from 250 square feet to 350 square feet, including a smart bathroom with complimentary premium toiletries (larger rooms also come with their very own hydromassage bathtub).

#2 The Amsterdam-Luxury Plus by Viadora – Elegant Boutique Hotel Condesa.

Down one of Condesa’s tree-lined avenues, The Amsterdam is one of several chic properties offered by Viadora in Mexico City’s trendiest neighbourhood.

LOCATION | We love that Parque Mexico is right around the corner, providing a verdant green space where you can get away from it all. Chilpancingo metro station is a 10-minute walk.

FACILITIES | A glorious, pergola-shaded rooftop terrace provides somewhere you can enjoy some morning sunshine, while indoors, there’s a nicely outfitted gym and a small lobby area with seating. Daily housekeeping and an on-site laundry service ensure everything stays crisp and clean, no matter the length of your stay.

ROOMS | Boasting 10 elegantly equipped suites designed to recall the old aristocracy that once existed in the Mexican capital, most of The Amsterdam’s apartments are more than 1,000 square feet in size, encompassing multiple bedrooms, a bathroom, a living area, and a kitchen.

The majority also come with a private terrace or patio, and some of the largest options contain three bedrooms that can lodge up to eight people. There are also a couple of smaller studios that are perfect for couples looking to spend a smidge less.

#3 The Red Tree House – An Exuberant Hideaway.

Arrayed in a mixture of terracotta and tangerine hues, the Red Tree House is an arboreally inclined escape that exudes a cheerful atmosphere.

LOCATION | Chilpancingo metro station and the Parque Mexico are less than 10 minutes away, while the Bosque de Chapultepec is a somewhat longer 30-minute stroll through the vibrant centre of Condesa.

FACILITIES | Like many of the boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City contains, breakfast is included at the Red Tree House, but the property does one better than most of its competitors by also supplying a nightly happy hour. Refresh yourself with free beer and wine while chatting with the other residents and sharing travel tips on the sun terrace.

ROOMS | The Red Tree House has personality in spades, with brightly painted walls and pop arty paintings enlivening every room. Snuggle into a compact 248-square-foot single room with a terrace, or give yourself space to spread out in a two-bedroom, 980-square-foot apartment with kitchen facilities.

#4 Mondrian Mexico City Condesa – In The Heart Of Condesa Culture.

The first Mondrian hotel to open in Latin America, the Mondrian Mexico City Condesa officially commenced operations in December 2022, bringing its signature brand of insouciant modern comfort to town.

LOCATION | Sandwiched between Condesa and the equally fashionable Roma neighbourhood, this hotel is just a couple of streets over from the Chilpancingo metro station.

FACILITIES | Four very different food and beverage concepts are on site at this Condesa boutique hotel. Our personal favourite is the rooftop terrace Skybar, but there’s also Mediterranean restaurant Cleo, the al fresco Super Aperitivo cocktail hangout, and the Flower Shop, which blends aspects of a florist and a café.

ROOMS | Living up to its artsy name, the Mondrian rooms feature colourful statement paintings throughout the 183 lodgings, which range in size from just over 300 square feet in the king rooms to almost 2,000 square feet in the penthouse.

All accommodation comes with a desk, a full bar, a Marshall Bluetooth speaker, and a Lavazza Blue coffee machine.

#5 Casa 9 – An Upmarket B&B Experience.

Everything at Casa 9 is simply but immaculately presented – it’s obvious the owners started with a clear vision and executed it precisely to create this stylish retreat.

LOCATION | One of the most well-located boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City has to offer, this former family mansion is a short walk from an international mix of restaurants and plenty of cosy cafes, as well as the Parque Espana. Bosque de Chapultepec and its associated metro station are around 10 minutes away.

FACILITIES | An excellent breakfast is cooked daily by the staff, with free coffee and water available throughout the day. There’s also an honour bar where you can grab an alcoholic beverage before relaxing in the communal lounge and terrace area with a captivating book.

ROOMS | Furniture is kept to a minimum to maximise the compact space of the rooms, which have tiled floors and provide patio access.

#6 Casa Comtesse – Individually Decorated Rooms In A Unique Boutique Hotel Condesa Mexico City.

If you like the idea of staying in a comfy B&B but prefer décor that has a bit more flair, the Casa Comtesse’s curio-filled rooms and warm hospitality are just the ticket.

LOCATION | Chilpancingo and Patriotismo metro stations are both within 10 minutes walk, while Bosque de Chapultepec is about half an hour away.

FACILITIES | Beyond the breakfast that’s served every morning, Casa Comtesse has a fairly limited range of services – it is a B&B, after all – though the hosts can help you organise tours to Teotihuacan, arrange laundry services, and order taxis.

ROOMS | We really appreciate how each of the eight rooms is individually decorated with unique pieces of art, furniture and fabric. The impression is one of a welcoming, homely space that is filled with nods to local culture – and to the surrounding Condesa neighbourhood.

#7 Octavia Casa – Minimalist Perfection.

Exhibiting a wood-accented contemporary style that’s all about soothing beige colours and beautifully crafted furniture, Octavia Casa is one of the more enticing boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City can offer lovers of interior design.

LOCATION | Down a fairly innocuous residential street, Octavia Casa has the advantage of being in the vicinity of the action but not surrounded by it, with restaurants, bars, and other hotels all on nearby roads. Patriotismo metro station is 10 minutes away.

FACILITIES | A sunny roof terrace crowns the Octavia Casa, which has free public parking nearby and breakfast for an additional fee.

ROOMS | There are seven rooms on offer here, including five double rooms, two studios, and a suite. All of them are equipped with king-size beds, Nespresso coffee machines, and blackout curtains.

#8 Felix Luxury Plus by Viadora – A Trio Of Exquisite Suites.

Another Condesa boutique hotel option from Viadora, the Felix has just three suites on offer, each one a comfortable, Instagram-worthy gem.

LOCATION | Just around the corner from sister hotel The Amsterdam and right next door to the Red Tree House, the Felix is less than 10 minutes from Chilpancingo metro stations and a stone’s throw from Parque Mexico.

FACILITIES | Considering there are only a few lodgings at the Felix, we’re impressed that this boutique even bothered to include a fitness area, which comes with not just the obligatory treadmill but a rowing machine and a weight bench, plus refreshments.

The rooftop terrace is equally noteworthy, with plenty of seating and a chill vibe.

ROOMS | Even the smallest suite (463 square feet) comes with a kitchen area, a small dining nook and an outdoor terrace. For something a bit more extravagant, the two other lodgings (1496 to 1776 square feet) come with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, private outdoor areas, and an open-plan kitchen/dining/living area.

#9 Casa Dovela – An Exhibition Of Mexican Artisanship.

Three sizable apartments constitute the Casa Dovela, whose art-filled accommodations are situated in a building with more character than many of the other boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City has to offer visitors.

LOCATION | Right outside the door, the small Parque Morelos provides a children’s playground and a bit of local neighbourhood colour if you want to sit a spell. There are a few metro stations within 10 minutes walk, while the nearest gate to the Bosque de Chapultepec is a 20-minute stroll.

FACILITIES | More of an apartment with a concierge than a hotel, there’s not much in the way of facilities aside from the 24-hour front desk. The eager staff can help you find restaurants, bars, and the easiest way to get to the sights you want to see.

ROOMS | Rooms here are an engaging display of artisanal Mexican design, from the dyed wool rugs woven by Zapotecs to the black tiles made from Oaxacan clay. Each suite is 860 square feet, but two of the options are two-bed duplexes with outdoor areas, while the third has a single bedroom with adjoining living spaces spread across a single floor.

Mid-Range Boutique Hotels Mexico City Condesa

While not quite as swoon-worthy as the very best boutique hotels in La Condesa, there are still some exceptional midrange options that offer superb service, comfortable rooms, and an excellent location.

We’ve included a mix of self-sufficient apartment hotels and B & Bs hosted by friendly locals so that there’s something for every taste.

#10 Casa Malí by Dominion Boutique Hotel – Pet-Friendly Suites.

The entrance to Casa Malí is a fantastic example of Mexican art deco, though the suites inside lean more towards functional modernism.

LOCATION | Towards the eastern side of La Condesa, this property is directly opposite Parque Mexico, with Chilpancingo less than a 10-minute walk away. If you do stay here (or even if you don’t), we recommend you stop in at the nearby Balta Bar, a cocktail mecca that was recently named one of the world’s 50 best bars.

FACILITIES | Casa Malí is one of the larger boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City has to offer and consequently comes with more facilities than most. These include a rooftop terrace, a library with a fireplace, and a fitness centre. Breakfast is supplied daily, and pets are allowed in rooms for an additional fee.

ROOMS | There are 21 rooms at Casa Malí, laid out in three formats: the compact studio (269 square feet), the junior suite (538 square feet), and the master suite (818 square feet). All of them come with Molton Brown toiletries and private kitchenettes, though the larger options have more spacious living and dining areas.

#11 Hotel Parque México Suites – Party All Night.

You can’t miss the striking façade of the Hotel Parque Mexico Suites, particularly at night, when it’s lit up like one of the party spots on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.

LOCATION | As the name suggests, these suites are a stone’s throw from Parque Mexico, in an area swarming with neighbourhood bars and eateries.

FACILITIES | The Terrazza Turkana is the highlight at the Hotel Parque Mexico Suites: a louche-looking lounge that supplies live music that runs until 2 a.m. on the weekends.

ROOMS | Generally speaking, the boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City provides lean towards understated elegance as part of their core ethos. Not Hotel Parque, whose rooms combine copious blond wood mixed with multi-coloured pillows, bright paintings, and windows partially paned with stained glass.

#12 Casa Decu – Art Deco Boutique Hotel Mexico City Condesa.

La Condesa is sprinkled with remnants of Mexico City’s Art Deco past. Casa Decu pays tribute to that history with its bold monochrome flourishes.

LOCATION | If you want to pick up a stylish souvenir, the Karani-Art store just opposite vends a colourful array of clothing and other mementoes. A few streets over, the Auditorio Blackberry hosts a variety of events throughout the week, in particular live music shows. Chilpancingo metro station is a short walk away.

FACILITIES | We really like the charming rooftop area, a sizable terrace where breakfast is served daily. Laundry, massage services, and dinner can also be arranged through the hotel, and there’s a very simple fitness area if you want to do a few stretches or jog on a treadmill.

ROOMS | Exquisite black and white tilework is paired with light-wood furniture to create rooms that nod to the past while also feeling thoroughly contemporary. All accommodation features a kitchenette, with terraces available in select lodgings.

#13 AR 218 by ULIV – Casual Loft-Style Apartments.

AR 218 makes a grand opening gambit with its lobby, which features gorgeous floor tiles and a sweeping, sinuous staircase. It’s a statement of intent: this Condesa boutique hotel is a show-off.

LOCATION | One of the most stylish Starbucks we’ve ever seen sits next door to supply your morning coffee fix, though there are also plenty of nice local spots nearby as well. Chilpancingo and Patriotismo metro stations are both within easy reach.

FACILITIES | The gorgeously sunny terrace is definitely a highlight, though free parking doesn’t hurt matters. Breakfast isn’t served on-site, but as we’ve already noted, there are plentiful coffee shops nearby. For travels further afield, you can also rent a bicycle from the property.

ROOMS | AR 218 maximises the light available by installing floor-to-ceiling windows wherever possible – though these don’t always offer the best views. Wood floors accented with grey furnishings keep things casually modern.

For a real treat, we suggest booking into one of the studios that come with a private terrace, where you can enjoy a glass of wine in a secluded shade.

#14 Hotel Villa Condesa – A Glimpse Of Old-Timey Mexico.

Concealed behind wrought-iron gates, the Hotel Villa is housed in a beautiful white mansion that’s around 100 years old.

LOCATION | On the cusp of Condesa and Roma Norte, La Palomilla is one of the best-located boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City can provide, with easy access to two buzzing neighbourhoods as well as the gay-friendly Zona Rosa area.

It’s also a 10-minute walk to Chapultepec metro station and a 30-minute walk to Chapultepec Castle through the lush surrounding parkland.

FACILITIES | Numerous cosy little communal areas are dotted throughout the property, including a glassed-in courtyard, a rooftop terrace, and a lounge. Breakfast is included, and there’s a daily happy hour in the garden.

ROOMS | Rooms here are on the smaller side, particularly when it comes to the bathrooms, though they do at least come with complimentary L’Occitane amenities.

We’d recommend skipping over the rather uninspiring basic double (a drearily furnished 172 square feet) and opting instead for either the classic double, which has stylish windows opening out onto the inner courtyard, or the deluxe double, which boasts a first-floor balcony.

#15 La Palomilla Bed & Breakfast – Colourful And Quirky Boutique Hotel La Condesa Mexico City.

Ending this list of the best boutique hotels Condesa Mexico City has to offer on a high note, La Palomilla Bed & Breakfast is a 3-star spot that packs a lot of charm and cheer into a small space.

LOCATION | Right around the corner from the Hotel Villa, the B&B has excellent links to all the main areas of Mexico City.

FACILITIES | An ever-changing breakfast menu is served daily in the communal dining area, and there’s also a small terrace where you can catch some rays. Free bikes are available, so you can cycle around the nearby Bosque de Chapultepec.

ROOMS | All the rooms here are fairly small (the largest is around 130 square feet), but the bright white walls and linens give the impression of a larger space.

What we like most about La Palomilla, however, is the colourful ornamentation that is unique to each lodging. In one, you may be confronted by paintings of luchadores; in another, funky mobiles made from traditional toys hang from the ceiling.
