FACILITIES: There’s a nice range of food and beverage options inside the Four Seasons, including an upmarket Italian spot, a Pacific Mexican restaurant, a patisserie, and our personal favourite, Fifty Mils Bar, an indoor-outdoor space serving up excellent cocktails.

The hotel also boasts a serene spa, a modest pool, a fitness centre, and a small rooftop pool.

In terms of dining, the hotel has a nice steakhouse for special occasions, plus a more casual breakfast/lunch restaurant.

ROOMS: Standard rooms here are cozy and eclectic, snugly fitting a writing desk, an ergonomic chair, and either one king-sized bed or two doubles into 291 square feet (27 square metres) of space.

FACILITIES: Aside from the modestly sized pool area with its views, Hotel Century Reforma also contains an all-day restaurant, a gym, and a variety of meeting rooms. 

ROOMS: Rooms here are compact and simply decorated, with the option to stay in either a room with a single double or two doubles.

#5 City Express Plus by Marriott Reforma El Ángel – One Of The Most Cost-Effective Hotels In Mexico City Zona Rosa.

FACILITIES: The hotel has a buffet breakfast but doesn’t offer any other meals – hardly a problem, given the restaurants in the nearby neighbourhood. There’s also a gym and paid private parking.

ROOMS: At 32 square metres (344 square feet), these are some of the larger-sized rooms we’ve seen in the mid-range category, providing plenty of space for you to kick back and relax after a long day tramping about the Mexican capital.

#7 City Express by Marriott EBC Reforma – Best Hotel For Affordable Comfort.

Only a couple of streets over from the City Express Plus, the City Express is marginally less stylish than its hotel sibling but also comes at a slightly lower price point. If you prioritize simplicity and cleanliness over uniqueness and flair, this is one of the best hotels in Zona Rosa, Mexico City, for you.

LOCATION: The City Express is located on a street that runs off the Paseo de la Reforma, opposite the Reforma 222 mall. Cuauhtemoc metro station on Line 1 is a 15-minute walk away.

FACILITIES: One of the nicest features at the City Express is a small, enclosed terrace area where you can gaze out at the cityscape on a clear day.

A complimentary breakfast is supplied in the hotel restaurant, and there’s a gym where you can get your pump on in between sightseeing. Paid public parking can be arranged ahead of time.

ROOMS: Red-accented furnishings add a little pop to the otherwise minimalist rooms, which come with a desk and air conditioning.

#8 Hotel Clé Reforma Insurgentes – One Of The Best Mid-Range Hotels in Zona Rosa Mexico City For Distinctive Design.

FACILITIES: While the terrace here is definitely a highlight for us – it’s one of the best of all the hotels near Zona Rosa Mexico City – there’s also a nice indoor restaurant and bar, as well as a compact fitness centre and a 24-hour cafeteria where you can get snacks and beverages. 

ROOMS: The rooms are on the small side, but they have plenty of character, with decorative fixtures, teal accents, and fluffy quilts.

#9 Holiday Inn & Suites Mexico – Best Hotel In Zona Rosa Mexico City For Family-Friendly Fun.

Considering it’s a mid-range chain hotel, the Holiday Inn has incorporated some nice individual touches into its design. For families, however, the most attractive feature of this chain is that kids 11 and under eat for free!

LOCATION: The surrounding area has a couple of museums that are great for children, including a branch of Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and the city’s Wax Museum. Cuauhtemoc metro station is 10 minutes away.

FACILITIES: For an over-the-top dining experience, head to the all-day Don Porfirio Restaurant & Bar, where the kitchen cooks up Mexican and international cuisine inside colonial interiors inspired by the 17th century and, in a wonderfully bizarre twist, Ancient Greek temples.

The Holiday Inn also has a fitness centre, a 24-hour business centre, and a terrace.

ROOMS: Accommodation ranges from standard rooms with queen beds to two-bedroom suites, all nicely laid out in white, blue, and brown.

LOCATION: Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and stores, the Hotel Geneve is in the middle of all the Zona Rosa action. Insurgentes metro station is a 5-minute walk away to the south, while the Angel of Independence is a 10-minute walk to the north.

FACILITIES: The Veranda Bistro is the hotel’s main restaurant, featuring a checkerboard floor and living walls of green foliage. The main bar, meanwhile, takes its cues from ‘60s London, including a big red phone box that sits in the middle of the room.

A spa, a fitness centre, and a small garden round out the facilities.

#11 Hotel El Ejecutivo by Reforma Avenue – Modern Minimalism.

Hotel El Ejecutivo is one of the most decorated hotels in Zona Rosa Mexico City, providing guests with an unfussy place to stay.

LOCATION: The Museum of Chocolate is just around the corner, while the Angel of Independence and the Monument to the Revolution are about 10 to 15 minutes’ walk away. The nearby Metrobus Line 4 station provides easy access to the Zocalo.

FACILITIES: The all-day restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, so you can eat breakfast outdoors when it’s sunny but retreat indoors if the evening rains come.

ROOMS: We like the crisp monochrome palette of the rooms here, accented with a pop of colourful art to make the accommodation feel modern and sleek. Choose from rooms with a single king-sized bed or rooms with two king-sized beds, both of which have large glass windows that let in plenty of light.

#12 Emporio Reforma – Best Budget Hotel For Classic Style.

The Emporio Reforma is one of the nicest looking Zona Rosa Mexico City hotels, housed inside an attractive, early 20th-century building.

LOCATION: Right on the bustling Paseo de Reforma Avenue, the hotel backs onto the Zona Rosa. Cuauhtémoc on Metro Line 1 and Revolucion on Metro Line 2 are both 15 minutes away. 

FACILITIES: A simple restaurant and a 24-hour gym space are on offer here, with parking and a business centre available for an additional fee.

ROOMS: The standard rooms at the Emporio are bijou at around 18 square metres (194 square feet), but they manage to pack in a desk, an iPod docking station, and a coffee maker. It’s fair to say that the double rooms are even cosier, squeezing in two beds, a desk, and a coffee table.

#13 Eurostars Zona Rosa Suites – Best Budget Suites.

Few hotels in Zona Rosa Mexico City can compete with the Eurostars for space. If you’re looking for somewhere that you can spread out a bit, this is a solid option. 

LOCATION: Right in the middle of Zona Rosa, this property is just off the bustling pedestrian Genova Street, down a pretty tree-lined road. Insurgentes metro station is just 5 minutes away.

FACILITIES: There’s a breakfast buffet available, but for other meals, you’ll have to head out to explore the vibrant neighbourhood. 

Parking is available for an additional fee, plus there’s a gym and a business area for guests to utilise at leisure.

ROOMS: A good-sized bedroom is paired with a living area with a microwave and a coffee machine. Bathrooms come with hydromassage tubs. Our favourite aspect, though, is the distinctive paintings that decorate each of the 60 suites.

#14 Hotel Royal Reforma – Best Affordable Option With Rooftop Pool.

You won’t find many hotels in Zona Rosa Mexico City with a rooftop pool in the budget category, but the Hotel Royal has a superb little plunge pool, encompassed by a cute garden area.

LOCATION: The Hotel Royal is situated on the Avenue Chapultepec, steps from the Insurgentes metro station. Chapultepec Park is just over 20 minutes walk away. 

FACILITIES: Our favourite thing about the Hotel Royal is the amazing rooftop pool, which is a great place to hang out when the weather is scorching. It comes with plenty of space to enjoy a refreshing beverage while working on your tan.

The hotel also has a decent gym with great views of the surrounding neighbourhood, as well as a modest business centre and an all-day restaurant that serves a breakfast buffet in the morning.

ROOMS: Accommodation comes in two flavours: either a single with a queen or a double with two queens. Both are perfect examples of compact comfort.

#15 MC Suites Mexico City – Best For Homely Apartments.

Boasting plenty of space and homely appeal, the MC Suites are a very affordable aparthotel.

LOCATION: Just a block back from Paseo de la Reforma, the hotel is 10 minutes’ walk from Metrobus Line 5 and Line 7.

FACILITIES: There’s not much in the way of facilities at the MC Suites, though perhaps the best perk if you have rented a car is that private parking is available for free on-site.

ROOMS: Our favourite room feature is the whirlpool bathtub that comes with every suite. 

While the smaller options are still a fairly sizable 45 square metres (484 square feet), the larger options have the benefit of a small hob as well as the standard microwave and kettle.

On the whole, yes, Zona Rosa is a safe place to explore on foot, particularly during the day. At night, some of the streets become rather lurid, transforming more into a ‘red light district’ than a ‘pink zone,’ so we err on the side of caution and avoid wandering about alone.
